I was always the kind of kid who would surprise my mom with things when she got home for work for no reason.........just because! I loved writing her notes and putting them on her pillow, cleaning the house spotless, and giving her a foot rub when she got home from a long day at work (which I didn't do a lot.......just on days I knew she really needed it) I did this because I love her so much, because compared to the pain she went through having me, taking care of her and helping around the house was the least I could ever do! I miss my mom sooo much! It's hard being 800 miles away from her, especially on celebratory days like Mother's Day! But being so far didn't stop me from getting her something special!
Gardners Gift Basket....... she loves to garden!
Flowers :) Both were delivered to her work......Surprise!
I wrote her a little poem:
You gave me life, you gave me love,
The grattitude I feel won't be enough.
You fed me, nurtured me, and helped me grow,
Who I am today, to you I owe.
She was definitely surprised! Wish I could have been there to deliver them myself along with a hug and kiss......maybe next year. :)
It's crazy even though I am a mom myself, I still get up in the morning on Mother's Day thinking this day is all about my mom, which of course it is but I don't even realize that I get to share that same special day with her now too. :)
My mom was pretty sneaky herself...........
I love this smell!!! Thanks again mom!
The rest of Mother's Day for me was relaxing. Josh helped a lot with Kaizen so I could relax and get some other things I wanted to do done. Then after resting for a bit we went out and mowed the lawn and did a little yard work........the yard was just begging for some attention so we decided to give it some. We also let the dogs out with us to play and took the big dog Buckley out to play in the water behind our house! He loved it! Dumb me forgot to take pictures.......once again I was just too caught up in the moment! I just need to tie the camera to my wrist when I go anywhere :)
I finally finished my menu board..........
It was so fun to do! Kaizen slept while I got it done :) Such a good baby........
I got Kaizen some cute little flip-flops...........
I just love his little feetsies!
And here is some feeding time pictures.......
Okay at this time I would like to tell you about Kaizen's name........ We have had our kid's names picked out ever since I can remember and for the LONGEST time (right up until a few weeks before he was born actually) we were planning on naming him Kayson..... we loved it but it seemed pretty close to Jason and we wanted something different.......something we've never heard of, so Kaizen popped up and we Fell. In. Love. but just to clarify.....you say his name like Kayzen not like Kyzen......just in case anyone was wondering. :) some people get it right and some don't.
Anywho.......It was a pretty good weekend! I very much enjoyed my very first Mother's Day! :)
