Family

Well it's been 2 weeks since my last blog post.....but I have a good excuse.....we were in Coalville for a family visit! Now I thought...I could do a blog post......but I thought I would make better use of my time by actually spending time with our families......the very reason we were there in the first place!
We had a wonderful time visiting and taking Kaizen to see as many people as we could!

The drive was long....we actually split into two days......its about a 12 and 1/2 hour long drive....but with a baby...it makes it a little longer. So we thought it would be easier to drive about 6 one day and 6 the next.......it worked out great!

We first stopped in Wyoming and visited Josh's Dad and his family....we went out to eat and had a nice long visiting session......discussing anything from religion to work and future plans. I absolutely love talking to Josh's dad about our religion.....he is so knowledgeable and you can just feel the spirit around him when he speaks.

After that we made the hour long trip from Wyoming to Coalville. Our families had no idea we were coming.....I was on the phone with my mother when we left Wyoming just to make sure she would be awake.....she totally thought we were still in Montana! So when we arrived at her house at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday night....you could imagine her surprise when she heard a knock on the door, and opened it to find us standing on the porch! She, my dad, and two younger sisters were there and o so happy to see us. It was actually Kassidy's 20th birthday......so we got there just in time to wish her a good one!
To tell Kristina we were in town, my mom thought it would be funny to send a picture of dad holding Kaizen and Josh in the background to her.......o she was confused! It was hilarious.......she called mom and just couldn't believe it! Let's just say.....they all thought it was a good surprise. :)

After we hugged and visited we headed over to Josh's mom's house. We got there at about 10:00 p.m. We got out of the car and headed down the stairs......she said she saw us coming and couldn't believe her eyes! We werent suppose to be coming until about the middle of March. She was so happy to see us! We exchanged hugs and sat and talked and laughed until we all got tired and went to sleep :) A few days later John, Josh's stepdad got home and got to see baby Kaizen for the first time......

The rest of the trip involved visiting our Grandmother's and some of our aunts. Kaizen definitely got a lot of attention!

Kaizen also got the chance to meet his "aunties" aka: my bffs for the first time. I hadn't seen Brittnee, Katie, and Carissa since my baby shower in August so I was so excited to get together with them! It's amazing how life leads you different ways.....on different paths. Becuase I moved so far away, we aren't as close as we once were.....I miss them so much! I miss all of our silly adventures.......our random thoughts.......all of our crazy ways! But after getting together with them, it was like we picked up right where we left off........like we hadn't ever been apart for so long.......none of that mattered! Thats what I love about them.........it doesn't matter how long we have been apart........we can get together and it will feel like we just hung out yesterday!
We went to Olive Garden in Riverdale to eat dinner and catch up and reminisce about anything and everything! Our poor waiter....he didn't know what to think about all of our craziness......we were quite amusing!

                                                                                                       Newly engaged Carissa!!

I can't wait until our next visit!!

I also got to visit my friend Vanessa in Evanston! I love her! She and her two little girls are so beautiful!

Also...... I reccomend the Cheesecake Factory in Salt Lake to anyone.......it is absolutely delish!

It was absolutely wonderful to see our families and although I miss them all already,
I am glad to be back home and back in the routine that we are used to. :)

Happy LOVE Day!

Valentines Day........hmmmm! Well I love Valentines Day.....most years....but this year, I'm not gonna lie, I just wasn't to into it. I don't know why and I don't know how.....I mean I have a wonderful husband who loves and cares for me....and I have a sweet little baby boy who shows me his love by staring into my eyes and slowly starts growing a big smile....... I think I expect too much.....every year I put Valentines Day on a pedestal........ I compare our lives to romantic movies, and love songs.....and have these thoughts that thats how it's suppose to be.....how it must be!
But the truth is........that's wrong....so wrong! I don't need my husband to get in a tux and have flowers in his hand, flower petals sprinkled all along the floor, and candles lit! I don't need to go to a fancy dinner awaiting on a rooftop being serenated by Elton John......The truth is all I need is this......

In the middle of us dancing around the room togtether....we decided to take a picture

By not expecting anything...........this year...............I got everything that made me realize what Valentines Day..............what love............ is all about.

I feel so blessed to be able to feel love for the people in my life.......sometimes I think I love too much, but thats okay in my book........thats ok in God's book..........and that's all that matters!

Super Bowl!!!

O the superbowl....I look forward to it every year......and every year so far the team I choose always wins! lol coincidence....Im not so sure! I just may be there lucky charm! But anyway, I do look forward to it every year. This year we had Josh's two brothers and their families over for a nice superbowl get together. I prepared most of the menu Saturday night so when we got home from church I wasn't running around with my head cut off trying to get everything ready.
Here is what the menu consisted of.....
          Chips and Salsa
Slow Cooker BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches
          BLT Rollers
          Homemade Creamy Chicken Toquitos
          Salad
          Football shaped Oreo Truffles
          Brownies........courtesy of Abby! :)

I wish I would have taken more pictures....but I was just too caught up in the moment.
Which is easy to do when you have this cute little guy to stare at.....

He is getting so big.....it makes me sad and happy at the same time.... I love to watch him grow and develop but at the same time I want him to be little and have to need me forever.....pretty soon its going to be school, sports, and girls and I'm gonna wonder.......where all the time has gone.

I forgot to take pictures until a lot of the food was already gone :( so here's what's left.......

They aren't as pretty as the ones on pinterest....but they were still a hit!

Picture not shown.......pulled pork sandwhiches....

Kaizen got lots of attention.......

All in all....it was a wonderful Sunday get together with the family. :)
