Summertime fun

I love my mornings with Kaizen. He his normally so happy and looks forward to seeing my face and I too his! He seriously brightens my life, our life. Our mornings consist of him waking me up whenever his little heart desires, usually around 8 or 9 am. and then he gets his morning bottle. Sometimes I have time to get a little breakfast of my own while his bottle is warming up.

Our morning breakfasts

After he layed down for his morning nap I quickly took a shower and got ready for the day. When I walked in the bathroom this is what I found on our mirror.......

A little love note.......or rather a little reminder of how much love he has for me! I just love that guy!

Later that afternoon we drove to Watford City, North Dakota for there derby. KZ spent some time with his Aunts Rylee and Keri and Uncle Branden as well as a couple of his cousins, Gage and Kaylee. I think they enjoyed each other. The derby was pretty fun. It's been a while since Josh and I have been to one so it was nice to watch, even if we didn't know anyone in it. They did have some pretty good drivers though!

There were a lot of people!

The next day Rylee and I made some apple chips! They were delicious......even if they took 2 hours to make......

I also made me a green drink....... It looks seriously disgusting but it was really really good!
Spinach, frozen strawberries, frozen pinneapple, and water blended to perfection!

Today Josh and I decided to have a date night. Just here in town at one of the nicer restaurants called the Cadilac. I don't know about you guys but sometimes there is just something about getting ready for a hot date with my man that I love. I just love getting the chance to get prettied up for something special. I crave it! It's just one of the many reasons I love being a woman........

I just love my little sis!

Little family

So an update on the Steroid medicine........ We tried starting it a few days ago but he hated the taste and kept spitting it out and even threw up one time. He has to have 5 ml of the liquid in the morning and 10 ml at night. We tried everything, just giving it to him in the syringe, putting it in his bottle, putting it in some rice cereal and applesauce.......he just wasn't having it! I prayed really hard that night that Heavenly Father would help him take it and keep it down. I had a dream that I should put a little rice cereal in the bottom of his feeder cup, put the medicine in and then put applesauce on top and mix it together. So I tried that yesterday morning and he ate it all, not even recognizing the taste. It also helped that he was really hungry. It is still kind of tuff getting the 10 ml down.......last night we were only able to get 8 1/2 ml down so I e-mailed the doctor and he put in an order to our pharmacy for capsules, that we will crush up and put in applesauce.......he shouldn't be aple to taste it so that will be good. We shouldn't see any changes for 1 to 2 weeks.........if in fact they work...........so I will keep updating!
I am telling you guys that the power of prayer is utterly amazing! If you but ask your kind Heavenly Father for help and guidance he WILL help you........maybe not right away........maybe not how you thought you needed.......but he will always be there to help.......ALWAYS!

I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week............

From our little happy feet........to yours!

Activities and Updates

O boy! I am slacking again! I'm sorry guys. I really am.

I wanted to start this post with a belated Fathers Day word for my dad........

My father........he is a quiet man. But behind all the quiet lies so much power, so much strength. He keeps to himself.........keeps his intentions, talents and weaknesses a seceret. But I know who he is.........he is and will always be........my Hero.

We may not be as close as other Father's and Daughter's are, we may not say I love you or give hugs as often as we should, but I don't need to have these things to know how much love he has for me and my sisters. It's just there..........it doesn't need to be spoken.........it's inevitable.

I really don't think my dad knows how much I respect and value his opinions but I do. A lot of times when I'm in a situation where I feel I have no control, I look to him for help. I may not actually call him up and ask him what to do, most of the time I just kind of think, What would my dad do?"  It's truly amazing how by doing that it changes my way of thinking.

I have dreams about my dad a lot.......probably because I'm so far away and kinda miss him :) but in every dream he is protecting me, or just saving the day somehow. It's amazing how the way I perceive my dad relays in my dreams. I love and am so thankful for my dad..........my exemplar.

I hate that I have waited so long to write that but.......better late than never.

My little sister Rylee came back to Montana with me, she is planning on being here until the end of July. It's been so fun with her.......she is so helpful, I really don't want to take her back! We have been doing lots of fun things from riding a canoe on the lake to just staying inside baking things.

KZ decided to take a nap :)

I brought Kaizen's little duck tub to float on the lake for a little bit aaannnddd......he hated it! He hates cold water so I tried to stick his body in little by little to get him used to it and that was working for a while but as soon as a little bit of cold water splashed on him he wanted to get out! We will have to try again another time.

It's just an inflatable canoe but it was so fun and also a good exercise!

Today we made these cute little dessert hamburgers............

They are so fun and easy. You just take vanilla wafers put frosting on the bottom "bun" then put a peppermint patty on that then add green colored shredded coconut, pipe on colored frosting, and add the top "bun". Brush on a little bit of honey on the top bun and sprinkle some sesame seeds on the top and voila.....you have these cute little hamburgers!

We also made some zucchini bread too! It. Is. Delicious.

An update on Kaizen........

So the Baclofen medicine he is on isn't really helping that much, the spasms are still happening every night. So we are going to start our precious baby on steroids. They are going to treat him as if he has infantile spasms because it just seems like that is what he has. The side effects really aren't that severe when you are using short-term steroids so that made deciding to go this route a little easier. We have to make sure he isn't around people who are sick as his immune system will be weaker while on the medication. He may be irritable and gain a lot of weight becuase he will be hungry more but these are things we must deal with in order for him to get the help he needs. We should see it working within a week or two and if it does in fact work he will stay on them for about 5 weeks and then he can be done. That is if everything goes good. When the spasms stop we are hopeful that he will start progressing, but once again.......only time will tell. :)
I am nervous, sad, and scared but I'm hopeful. We have faith.

The Zantac medication he is on seems to be helping. It took a while.....a lot of throwing up days, discouraging days where we thought nothing was working, nothing was helping our little angel but........with faith, God's help and persistence, I think it is finally doing it's job.

I. Love. This. Boy!!!!!
